Season One is the first season of the Starz television series American Gods. It consists of eight episodes and started filming April 18, 2016 in Toronto. The first episode of the season is "The Bone Orchard". It premiered at SXSW on March 11, 2017.

Synopsis Edit

Shadow Moon is hired as Mr. Wednesday's bodyguard and finds himself in a hidden world where a battle is brewing between the Old Gods and the New Gods.

Notes and trivia Edit

  • Ricky Whittle bulked up 30 pounds for the role of Shadow.[11]
  • Filming started April 18, 2016 in Toronto and is expected to take six months.
    • According to Craig Cegielski, they are starting in Toronto but will also be filming in the US.[12]
  • Sean Harris had to exit the series for personal reasons, causing Mad Sweeney to be recast with Pablo Schreiber in the role.[13]
